The world is still a very lonely place with the virus forcing us to be more isolated than we desire. Many of our regular business activities have moved on line. Even our personal activities are using FaceTime and other electric connections vs less in person tangible interactions.
With in person human connection temporarily missing, what can you do?
A new season, Autumn will soon be upon us. This is a perfect opportunity to reconnect with people you may not have seen over the Summer. Reconnecting is good for the mind and the heart.
Reconnecting can be just picking up the phone and sharing with someone that you miss them or detailing a fun activity that you did over the Summer. My favorite is remembering a story that involved the person you are speaking with and going over what you did and how you felt being with them. This remembrance is a great way to remind the other person that they are a priority in your life from a historical perspective.
These ideas may sound too personal for a business acquaintance but I have found sharing usually allows the other individual to feel it is okay for them to open up as well. This creates a whole new level for your relationship. Connecting the past with the present and building an even better future.
The outcome of this sharing is both parties feel reconnected with each other and the relationship has been reignited. You can now begin again with that individual as if the time lapse never happened.
Some of my best customers have come from my reaching out to them and reestablishing our relationship.
Hurry up and reconnect before the Winter and hibernation begins.
