When we were all children our parents reminded us to always say thank you. Some were reminded more than others…
By expressing appreciation, you are letting the other person know you recognize their action. You are taking their behavior and making them feel as if it was a worthwhile endeavor.
I know when someone thanks me it makes me feel good. It also makes me want to do more things for that person. When I thank someone they usually smile. They love being recognized for what they do. That smile has resulted in people going above and beyond on my behalf. From delivering a package at my desired time, to finding an out of stock item at another location and shipping it to my business free of charge, to introducing me to someone who has become a fantastic new client.
Always telling someone thank you creates a foundation for future goodness or future good deeds.
