I work with several companies who have had much good fortune. Their growth is a cause for celebration. However, sometimes they just act as if the next goal is what is important, and forget what they just accomplished. They never slow down or stop to smell the roses. After all they say, there is too much else to do. If I stop now, someone else will catch up to us or maybe even pass us.
I wonder how this type of thinking impacts the other members of the organization who helped attain the positive outcome. Study after study shows positive reinforcement makes people want to receive more positive accolades. The outcome of positive acknowledgement is people will work harder so they will continue to be recognized for their efforts.
One of the best ways to generate a positive feeling among a team is to have a celebration for success. It could because you just obtained a new client or you reached a sales goal, or you just hired a new employee or just because you still are in business during these difficult times.
Any reason is a good reason to bring your team together and make them feel they made a difference which is a cause for celebration.
After all, success breeds success!
