More and more people are starting businesses than ever before. The big difference this time is that most of these new endeavors are web based. In addition, a large percentage of these businesses are starting out as a side business. Their full time job is not being abandoned for their start up venture. This means the start up is receiving part time interest. It is not like their livelihood is dependent on the venture’s success. It is almost like they are putting their toe in the water and testing to see if it is safe to put the rest of themselves in too. This approach may involve less risk in that one is probably not investing large sums of capital nor leaving their steady income job. After all, this approach is more of a trial at first, and then if there is success, they will become more involved. The ultimate question that is left unanswered with this tactic, is can you have part time success? Will you constantly be looking out to improve? When you have the choice of fixing a service problem, exercising, or going out with friends, will the business be the priority? To achieve success one has to utilize all ones skills. That means mind and heart need to be fully engaged. The business needs to be a top priority, not an afterthought.
If you are not fully committed to your idea, find something else that you can fully commit to.
