December is the last month of the year. Lots of people use it as a time to reflect on the year. Their thoughts range from what was done well and areas they could improve upon in the coming year. They catch up on work that they have been too busy to do over the past 11 months. It is a passive time of looking backward. The majority of people I know are winding down.
The quote I hear most is, “Boy this has been a tough year. I need a break.”
These people are not taking any action. They are cleaning up and tying up loose ends.
Housekeeping if you will
That means it is your time to make a difference. You never get ahead by following the crowd.
I believe there is plenty of time to reflect and tie up loose ends for example on the day before and after the holiday(s).
I use the month of December to determine what I need to do to make this year a smashing success.
As they say “it ain’t over until it’s over.”
My attitude is Go, Go, Go!
Don’t stop. Keep reaching out to people. Send gifts to customers ahead of everyone else. Make the gift personal so it connects with their life. This connection and timing will make the gift stand out. Hand write notes to people to tell them how much you enjoyed something about them. Set a goal of 10-15 notes per week. All creative ideas are good at this time of year. Most people are shutting down.
Now is your time. Deepen your connections by finishing strong.
