Don’t Wind Down… Keep Going💪
Most people get into the holiday mode the closer we get to Christmas and the New Year. That means they take time off. They begin work later, take longer lunch breaks, quit early and basically check out starting about December 15th.
Now the question is do you follow the majority or are you different?
Being Different
I believe in being different.
So let’s think about what that means.
To me it means being active not passive for the next 16 days.
I would start by getting on the phone and calling people.
Begin by calling contacts you have not been in contact with for a couple of months. See how they are they doing and schedule a time in early January to get together. This will get the momentum going when 2023 begins. You will feel good to connect and they will feel good about you. Work through your contacts and mix just reconnecting on the phone with setting up a face to face get together. Doing this before the holidays will create a warm feeling over the holidays which will serve to deepen your connection with them.
What might you discuss?
Here are some topics to get you started.
- What are you doing over the holidays? Have you completed your holiday shopping? What excites you over the holidays?
- What are your favorite holiday traditions?
These types of discussions will allow you to deepen your personal relationship with them. You might even learn some creative ideas to make your holidays more joyful.
Every person I have asked these questions to have responded in a thoughtful way and expressed appreciation for my interest.
I also mix in reaching out to friends. I catch up with them and set dates to get together between December 15th and the end of the year. This is usually everyone’s personal time. Using personal time in this way creates a reminder of the importance of friends and makes you feel good that you have people who care about you.
Now get going and become that person who is active right until the end of the 2022.
You will stand out as a friend to those you know!
