As summer winds down and we move into fall, many of us spend more time in our offices, at our desks, and connecting indoors. This seasonal shift is the perfect opportunity to focus on deepening relationships with both your existing clients and potential new partners.
When it comes to building strong connections, three words always come to mind: know, like, and trust. Let’s explore what these mean in practice.
Know
Do your customers know you beyond the products and services you provide? And do you know them? Sharing updates about your work, achievements, and even personal milestones helps people connect with you on a deeper level.
For example, one of my clients sends a quarterly update to their network sharing business wins, community involvement, and personal highlights. The result? Stronger connections with existing contacts, reengaged old relationships, and new introductions—all while allowing their network to know them better.
Like
People tend to do business with those they genuinely like. Sharing your story, your values, your passions, and even small personal details helps you become more relatable and approachable. The more someone feels they “know you,” the more likely they are to enjoy interacting with you and value your perspective.
Trust
Finally, trust grows out of being known and liked but it also requires consistency, authenticity, and follow through. When your clients see that you deliver on promises, see your values in action, communicate openly, and genuinely care about their success, they’re more likely to rely on you and even refer others to your business. Strong trust leads to loyalty, long term partnerships, and meaningful collaborations.
Building deeper relationships is intentional. It’s about communicating, sharing, and connecting consistently and authentically. Even small actions like a thoughtful note, a check in call, or sharing a helpful resource can have a big impact over time.
If you’d like support creating stronger “know, like, and trust” connections for yourself and your business, let’s connect. Together, we can make this fall a season of stronger relationships and meaningful growth.
Time is moving fast—let’s use this season to build relationships that last!
