Summer is in full swing. Mother Nature has created an abundance of beauty for us to view and allow inspiration from all we see and smell.
The world around us is alive. August is a peak time for seeing the impact of Mother Nature. It makes me feel good seeing the growth and beauty that comes from seeds and blossoms into flowers.
I remember when I was a child nothing taught me more than taking care of my own garden. Every day I would check to see if the flowers needed watering. I would then encourage the seeds and flowers to grow. I even told them when they grew or blossomed how well they were doing. One day I forgot to take care of my garden. The result was some flowers died from the heat and ultimately became weeds while others just drooped. Watering them brought some back to life. I will never forget that lesson that to have a garden reach its potential requires constant vigilance. Missing even a day can have an adverse impact.
Tip
Always clean up the weeds as they multiple rapidly if left alone
People are a lot like a garden
They need to be nurtured on a consistent basis. Talk to them. Tell them how well they are doing. Watch them grow and flourish from that positive interaction. Just like a plant or flower when you don’t notice their needs, the impact is they don’t stand as tall nor reach their potential fully. Like weeds negative thoughts can grow unabated if not managed and pulled out of your head.
I have found that sharing kindness with others is a great way to help others become their best. In this way the negative thoughts can be displaced. Plus when you help others it makes you feel good and sometimes they even help you too.
People and flowers do have a lot in common.
